My name is José (they/them).

My love for movement began on the track. It was through pole vaulting that I honed my values of discipline, courage, and precision. When I became a Pilates instructor years later, my appreciation for patience and awareness developed. It was not until I lost myself on the dance floor that I found my favorite value of all — Play.

I believe that Play is the bedrock of joy; that every body deserves celebration. I believe that the mountain has always been you — and most importantly, that everything you need is already within you.

Playground is the dream of my life, offered in service of body liberation and dance music. Every beat and every breath, every pulse and every practice, is designed specifically for you. Thank you for Playing with me.
